The hall is located in a beautiful countryside of german Pfalz. It is not allowed to build on the surface in this area and that is why the hall is set into a hill. Walls of the hall are created of hydraulic pistons, so the hall could be exactly shaped according to acoustic and functional requirements of a given performance. To the side walls of the hall pictures of surrounding coutryside are being projected through narrow slits in the rock on a principle of camera obscura. Thanks to this system it is possible to see a real-time sunset when listening to a classical music concert or to situate a theatre scene in front of a local church. The cavities through which is the image projected onto the side walls are used as a big foyer.
